The CADALFEST events at Adishakti have been collaboratively organised with:
Adishakti Laboratory for Theatre Art Research is a contemporary theatre research and repertory company near Pondicherry, India. Adishakti creates theatre performances and engages in performance research which enables the development of unique theatrical language. The theatre disseminates these research findings through residential workshops to people in varied disciplines. Adishakti reaches out to other performance groups, artists and ideators to evolve their own workshops, residencies, retreats, seminars and performances in its space that encourage hybrid expression.
Jenni Balasubramanian teaches French language and Literature in Tagore Government Arts and Science College, Puducherry. She completed her PhD from the Centre for French and Francophone Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her doctoral research focused on the representation of Maronnage in La Réunion’s literature. Her current research area focuses on the heritage of Indentured system in Madras Presidency and Pondicherry.
Bethan Evans is a Doctor of Philosophy in English and the Project Officer for ‘On Page and On Stage’. Her research is in black British literature and aesthetics, particularly the black British short story. She has recently co-authored a chapter with Jenni Ramone on black Welsh writer Leonora Brito for the Routledge Companion to Literature and Feminism (2023) and is currently co-editing a special issue of the Journal of Postcolonial Writing due for publication in 2025.
Ritu Tyagi has been Assistant Professor at Pondicherry University since 2012. She completed her doctorate from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, USA. She has published numerous articles on Francophone Literature, Postcolonial Studies, Women Writing and Indian Diaspora. Her book Ananda Devi: Narration, Polyphony and Feminism was published with Rodopi/Brill in 2013 and was well received by critics. She recently completed an ICSSR project on Women and Post-Indenture Indian Diaspora.
Dr K. R. Rajaravivarma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Performing Arts at Pondicherry University. He was a professional actor in the Koothu-p-Pattarai Theatre group, Chennai, for over 12 years. He won the Best Teacher Award in Performing Arts at Pondicherry University four times. He has successfully guided ten PhD scholars for the award of Doctorate.
